Who are we rooting for?

First, BC, GW, Syracuse, USC, and GTech (not to mention the Yales, Roanokes, and (ahem) Citadels of the world) didn't make the tourney this year. Second, George Mason and Winthrop have lost. That leaves: Washington State (Todd; also Pac-10 in general) Davidson (Leslie) Tennessee (Leslie (and MA?)) Duke (Fairweather Will's adopted team) Who else has team loyalties or dislikes? What am I missing? BTW, I am a Big East supporter, but no love for Notre Dame. (And I am not a UNC fan (except against Duke), despite attending Chapel Hill.)

  1. I'm rooting for more people to post on the blog. Will, where is your smack talk? How could you go to a lake at a time like this? Ole and Sarah, you think you can just get a bracket without taking some cracks at Piers? Everyone around here is supposed to insult Piers. That goes for Abby, too. Margaret and Jeff: Get with the program. Leslie! Lauren! Shake a leg here. Also, I say Jim Goff can't win the pool and claim bragging rights unless he actually does some bragging.

  2. I have done some research and found that some of the pool didn't pick Winthrop. What kind of dispicable person would join a bracket which requires a pass word of rockhill and not pick our team? OK, so they were sligtly off in the 2nd half that doesn't excuse voting with the head when the heart is supposed to control.

  3. I can now take a crack at Piers now that I am tied with him for the lofty 20th spot. We are now ready to make our collective moves. Piers has Syracuse going all the way in the NIT. He only pulls for UNC, a place that has accepted him and provided him refuge from a life in the frozen north, when they play Duke. What kind of person would treat his second alma mater so poorly?

  4. Clarkson, I thought this family supports diversity. My picking Washington State over Winthrop was an act in support of people geographically different than I am.

  5. I'm still in mourning over the disappointing GT season (we almost had UNC, and about 3-4 other top 25 teams).

I've been so busy trying to upgrade our poor image, Piers, that I didn't have time to do a bracket.

What is the world coming to when Winthrop beats GT in hoops and UGA makes the big dance?? Sheesh!!

I'm looking forward to the carpet baggers--I mean--the Dodie Mc's heading south so that we can take ML, Franklin and Solomon to a real sport: football, Southern-style.

Y'all come tailgate this fall, alright? Sandy thinks that Paul Johnson is going to win us a national championship in the next few years. Gotta hope for something.

  6. No one treated their second alma mater so badly as Clarkson did when he accepted their offer.

Lauren: happy belated birthday! Sorry to miss it on a proper blog post. Hope it was great. But seriously, you realize by not picking Winthrop you entered Benedict Keithley territory. You've been married to Randolph long enough to know better (please tell me he didn't pick WSU, too!)
