Tell me you aren't checking out the 'guns' on those Cougars...
Comments are open. Right now it's 16-15 WSU with 7 mins. left in the first half.
[Update: 29-29 at the half! Excitement excitement!]

[Second Update: Well it was down to the wire, but WSU squeaked out the win. Or at least that's what I assume - I flipped over to watch Duke get lucky as Belmont threw the ball away in the closing seconds.]
The Hipster Pickster has now become the Sicker Picker. So far I am 6-5 and am quite envious of Maggie Lou's lofty perch in the standings. I am still beating Franklin. Winthrop played a great first half but fell apart. Does anyone recall a team tied at the half losing by 31? Belmont and Winthrop each gave up 71 points to a favored team and lost the game in the second half. Why are Belmont fans more pleased? Duke dodged a bullet. Sometimes that is a sign of falling apart but other times teams barely beat an underdog in the first round and go on to the Final Four. George Mason is looking good so far. If they are tied at the end of regulation instead of playing overtime each team will be asked some history questions. We understand that GM has a big advantage in that department.
ReplyDeleteI managed to see a bit of the Duke game, but missed everything else -- we were out at Match Day celebrations. (Meredith matched at Columbia.)
ReplyDeleteIs everyone ready to join me in rooting for WSU over Notre Dame? I know MC is.
Yes Todd, I am. I picked Mason over ND and Winthrop over WSU. Blood may be thicker than water, but it doesn't get you so far in Hoops.

I was unable to comment from home last night. What happened? Maybe I was cut off by the embarrassment factor on my computer. I am 24 of 25 or at least was last time that I checked. Winthrop played the worst half in the history of basketball. My appology to Todd and all West coasters for our failute to push them. Having such an easy half will haunt WSU later.
