Syr-onara: 'Nova 83- 'Cuse 63

Villanova advances in Big East Tourney
The only thing assured from this game is that, for a second consecutive season, Syracuse will not be playing in the N.C.A.A. tournament. The Orange (19-13) looked every bit the young and inconsistent team that’s fluctuated between brilliant and baffling at different times this season.

  1. It's moments like that it makes sense that our pep band is called the Sour Citrus Society. On a forum today someone called them "Sorry-excuse". That's pretty funny, but sad for a team that went to 20+ straight NCAAs in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, making three finals in that time. Ugh.

  2. We don't care how Syracuse used to play. This is 2008. To paraphrase a popular commercial. "This is not your father's NCAA." The Citadel is one of the few schools who have competed in Division One since 1948 without ever once making the NCAA tournament. Do you hear us talking about how bad we used to be? No. we are willing to have out reputations rest on how bad we are right now.
